Undead and Unwed

Good evening Readers,

I love to read. I will read just about any book I can get my hands on. I wanted to recommend a really good book series. It is written by Mary Janice Davidson and it is the Undead series. I know, I know the whole vampire genre is way past it's prime, but let me tell you that these books are hilarious! I can guarantee that you will laugh out loud....yeah you will actually LOL.

The first book in the series is Undead and Unwed...
The following is from Mary Janice Davidson's website.
Betsy Taylor turns 30, gets laid off, is killed by an SUV and wakes up dead all in the same week. The vampire community is convinced she's their prophesied Queen. But she's not having any of it—she's got shoes to buy! And now the undead world is being turned upside-down by a Bela Lugosi throwback and her subjects expect her to take care of it! Why didn't she read the handbook? But her would-be consort, Eric Sinclair, is (annoyingly) ever-present. If only he wasn't so tall, dark, gorgeous...and undead.

They just go on from there talking about Betsy's undead hilarious life. If you want a good laugh, a few steamy scenes, and an all around good series then check this one out!

After The Weekend...

Dear Readers,

Sorry I didn't post anything this weekend. It was a hectic one! So I previously posted that I was attempting to give up cussing. You can read that here. Well that didn't go over so well this weekend. Once I had a few drinks, the bad words started flying out of my mouth. Why oh Why do I say those things?

Then I had a bad day at work today, so once again I was using swear words. If I am gonna be a mom someday, I gotta stop talking like that! It just helps so much with my anger issues haha.

Oooh, so I had a new shot this weekend. Let me tell you all about it...It tastes like a dreamsicle and it is delicious. You put half whipped cream vodka (you heard me right, whipped cream vodka yummy!)

Then the other half is orange juice. Pour em in a shot glass and drink it down!

So after you make this drink make sure you come back and tell me how you enjoyed it! You should definitely leave a comment or even follow my blog!

Can I Do It? Can I Stop Cussing?

So in a previous post, I talked about my giving up pop. You can check that out here. I am still going strong with that. Like I said before, I still have one every now and then. Today for example, I had a root beer. (It wasn't very good)

Well I decided that was going so well, that I would give up another bad habit...cussing. I know, that is no way for a lady to speak. I have a particular affinity for the F-bomb. For a long time I told myself I couldn't help my cussing. Boy was I wrong. It takes an effort, but I can do it.

So now I try my best not to use the A word, F-bomb, S word, B word, or any of the other obscenities I couldn't think of.

<----I actually say this hahaha!!

I challenge everyone to stop cussing, it makes you use your imagination lol. You have to think of other creative things to say!

I also say dumb things like "oh Crapolla". I know, sounds dumb but you would be surprised how many people will pick up on what you say and start using it themselves.

So I hope I am able to keep on my path of righteousness, but I know the next time I drink (Saturday night) my good old friend the f-bomb will come sneaking back into my vocabulary.

If you wanna leave a comment or follow my blog, it would be absolutely fantastic!!

One Flaw in Women...

One Flaw In Women

Women have strengths that amaze men.....

They bear hardships and they carry burdens,

but they hold happiness, love and joy.

They smile when they want to scream.

They sing when they want to cry.

They cry when they are happy

and laugh when they are nervous.

They fight for what they believe in..

They stand up to injustice.

They don't take "no" for an answer

when they believe there is a better solution.

They go without so their family can have.

They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.

They love unconditionally.

They cry when their children excel

and cheer when their friends get awards.

They are happy when they hear about

a birth or a wedding.

Their hearts break when a friend dies.

They grieve at the loss of a family member,

yet they are strong when they

think there is no strength left.

They know that a hug and a kiss

can heal a broken heart.

Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.

They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you

to show how much they care about you.

The heart of a woman is what

makes the world keep turning.

They bring joy, hope and love.

They have compassion and ideas.

They give moral support to their

family and friends.

Women have vital things to say

and everything to give..

HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN,
IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

Military Songs...Sure to Make You Proud!

Good evening readers. When my husband was in Iraq the first time, I would search the web for all things military related. I always loved to hear any songs about military life and so I am making a list for all of you. These songs may make you laugh...or cry, but I hope you enjoy them. I was putting the videos on here so you could watch them, but it was too much to have loading at once. If you type these in youtube, the videos will come up :)

1. American Soldier- Toby Keith
What person associated with the Armed Forces can't love this song? This is a great one for wives, husbands, soldiers, children and all family alike.

2.Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue- Toby Keith
What can I say? The man can sing a good military song. This song is excellent. It makes you proud to be an
American.

3. Letters from War- Mark Schultz
Ladies, this one is sure to make you cry. It has a happy ending though. This is one of my favorites, I would listen to it whenever I needed a good cry.

4. Bumper of My SUV- Chely Wright
This song reminds us how narrow minded some people can be. It is a reminder that not everyone supports our troops and that is sad. It is a wonderful song!

5. I'm Already There- Lonestar
A reminder that no matter where your soldier may be, he is always in your heart.

6. Soldiers and Jesus- James Otto
This is one of my personal favorites. I absolutely love this song and completely agree with it. If there is one song you should listen to, it is definitely this one.

7. A Soldier's Wife- Roxie Dean
She sings a lot of truths about being a military wife. It's a hard life and it takes a special woman to be married to a soldier.

8. Sleeping with the Telephone- Reba McIntyre & Faith Hill
This is a new one for me. It is not one of the best ones in my opinion, but still good.

9. Just a Dream- Carrie Underwood
This is another one that will make you cry. I remember the first time I heard it, on my way to work. I was crying so hard by the time I got there. This is every military spouses worst nightmare.

10. Letters from Home- John Michael Montgomery
This is another good one. If you know anyone deployed, you should keep in touch. They need all the support from home they can get :)

There are a million more I could put on here, but that is enough for now. I will have future posts with more military songs on them. If you have any to suggest just let me know and I will include them in the next one. I appreciate any and all comments. It would be great if you wanted to follow my blog:)

Mountain Dew...Without You How Will I Survive?

"Actually, I think all addiction starts with soda. Every junkie did soda first. But no one counts that. Maybe they should. The soda connection is clear. Why isn't a presidential commission looking into this? Or at least some guys from the National Carbonation Council."
- Chris Rock

I made an unconscious decision at the beginning of this year to stop drinking pop (or as some folks call it, soda). Why unconscious you ask? Because I never really decided to stop drinking it, it just sort of happened. I started drinking more water and in turn cut out all the Mountain Dew I was knocking back. I mean who doesn't love a bubbly caffeine fueled Mountain Dew? The trick is to not completely cut it out. I was drinking 1-2 pops per day, and now I am down to that many per week. So I guess I haven't completely given it up, but have made a big leap in that direction.

I tried to quit drinking pop cold turkey before...it was not pretty. I lasted about a month. It seemed like all I could think about was my beloved Mountain Dew (okay maybe a slight exaggeration, but a girl is allowed that once in a while). Once I indulged myself, I couldn't stop. Haha okay, so I have to admit, it wasn't that bad. I am super proud of myself for giving it up (mostly) though.

What is your favorite pop? Do you know of anyone who doesn't drink pop at all? I appreciate all comments and feedback.

Guess Who's Back?

It has been a few months since I have written, or even been on my blog. Of course, I don't have a following yet so that doesn't really matter. I am going to now be taking this blog in a new direction.

My husband will be going back for his second tour in Iraq in January of 2012. So the year long count down started the beginning of this month. I will be writing about the trials and tribulations of this tough time. We haven't received his official orders yet, so I guess you could say it is not set in stone. The first time he was gone, it was an emotional roller coaster. I would go from laughing to crying in the space of a second. I had my good days and my bad, definitely more bad than good. If there are any other military spouses that choose to follow this, I appreciate any and all comments and questions.

For my first post back, I am gonna talk about our dog Peanut. I had previous posts about him, but I will put a picture in here so you can see him.

This is Peanut. He is about 10 months old I think. Everyone says he is so ugly he is cute, but I have to disagree. I think he is going to be one of the toughest things to deal with when my husband is over seas. My husband is the one who plays with him and gets him all tired out to cuddle with me. :) Whenever he isn't home, Peanut just goes crazy. He barks constantly and just generally misbehaves. So that will be one obstacle to overcome.

I will be writing more regularly, so check back and leave some feedback or comments if you want. I usually just write about whatever comes to mind, so I hope you enjoy. Have a good night!!!
