Being an adult means....

1. Paying your bills (and paying them on time!)

2. Going to work everyday...even if you don't want too

3. Taking responsibility for your actions, even if they were wrong

4. Cleaning up, even if your parent's are not there to tell you to do it

5. Having insurance, whether it be auto, home, life or health we all need it. I know...everyone hates insurance, but suck it up. It is a necessary part of life.

6. Doing the laundry

7. Doing what needs done, even if it isn't what you want to do

8. Living on your own. You can't live with your parents forever! (Well maybe you could, but why would you want too?

9. Budgeting your money (no you can't go out and blow your paycheck on whatever strikes your fancy)

10. Being yourself, even if that means not fitting in with the "crowd"

I love any and all comments. It would be fantastic if you would follow my blog! Thanks for checking it out!

The Customer is NOT Always Right!

Whoever believes "the customer is always right" obviously never worked in customer service.

Since I have been 16-years-old, I have always worked with the general public. Let me tell you, 9 times out of 10 they are definitely WRONG! (I just made up that little fun fact haha). I don't mind a healthy debate with one of our customers, but when they start getting hostile and cursing at me, I get defensive. I had a man call the other day very upset from the start. He wouldn't let me get a word in and he just ranted and raved continuously. I tried in vain to answer all the questions and problems he had, to no avail. He eventually told me to "stop talking to me like I'm a damn idiot!" It took everything I had not to say, "Well then stop being a damn idiot!" I refrained though, and he finally calmed down and listened to what I had to say.

So the next time you think about yelling or screaming at someone who is just doing their job, please think twice! (If they deserve it, it is ok though hehe) Every once in a while, you will get someone in customer service who just hates life and is rude. I don't think it is right to be mean back, just ignore it and go on with your day. I think you should try to be nice to everyone you meet, you might just brighten someone's day!

I appreciate all comments!

If I have to live through another blonde moment!

So basically my blonde moment for today boils down to this....I gave someone too much change. This is how it all happened:

I get to work about 5 minutes before the actual office opens to customers. I get my computer turned on and I get my poptarts open and start eating (yes I have poptarts almost every day for breakfast). So one of our customers shows up to make a payment before we even open! Of course I am the one who gets stuck helping him.

He gives me the money and I go to get him change. I give him $12 back and he leaves. I then realize that "oh no!! those three $20s he gave me were actually two $20s and a $10!" I gave him $10 too much. (Hey not necessarily my fault, I didn't get a chance to eat my poptarts yet!) So I tried to call the number we have listed for him and of course it is no longer a working number.

So here comes the wonderful part...he calls me about 3 hours later and tells me I gave him too much change. Hallelujah for good Samaritan's!! He is going to bring it back to me so therefore I don't have to pay it out of my pocket! Thank you very much gentleman who shall remain nameless!

So besides a different man who proceeded to call and yell at me and tell me "not to talk to him like a damn idiot" My day is looking considerably brighter!

Be Honest...to a Certain Extent

I am the kind of girl that will be standing at the checkout counter and if I see the cashier has something stuck in her teeth, I will tell her in a heartbeat. Now I know that may seem rude and the cashier might even get embarrassed, but at least she won't spend the rest of her shift with broccoli in her teeth.

I say be honest, but to a certain extent because there is a fine line between honesty and being rude. If I go clothes shopping with my friends, I will honestly tell them if something does not look good. I will be polite, but I won't lie and say something looks good if it doesn't. Then again, I would never go up to a stranger and tell them what they are wearing looks horrible. I will be the first one to tell you if you have something in your teeth or you have a booger though! This may seem strange, but I would want someone to tell me rather than let me walk around all day like that.

Life Lesson #6

Do not leave your clothes in the dressing room!!

Seriously people, this is an easy one. If you take the clothes in there, take them back out!! I was shopping at Kohl's yesterday and the lady that works there had the audacity to tell me to take my clothes out of the dressing room. I can honestly say I have NEVER left any clothes in a dressing room. I think that is unbelievably rude. The thing is, she only said it to me. Everyone else walking in and out she didn't say a word to. The hilarious thing is that a mom was helping her daughter try clothes on and when they left the dressing room, she told her daughter, "Just leave all the clothes in there; that is her job to clean them up." People have a misguided notion that all younger people are rude. I am very far from it. So anyway I sympathize with the grumpy woman who told me to take the clothes out of there when I was done. Have you seen some of those dressing rooms? Total messes. The next time you are trying on clothes, be kind and put them in the designated area when you are finished.

I appreciate any and all comments. If you wanted to follow my blog...that would be awesome too!

Halloween...in honor of October 1st

Since today is October First, I am getting pretty psyched for Halloween. I had a party last year and this is how one side of my basement was decorated. It was pretty awesome with all the lights out. We switched out the regular lights with black lights. I will post more pics of last Halloween later.

It would be fantastic if you would like to leave a comment or even follow my blog!! Thanks!

Cinnamon Chips and Apple Dip

I made this last night. They are cinnamon sugar chips and apples chopped up mixed with cinnamon and sugar.

How to make apple dip:

2 Large Apples
Sugar
Cinnamon

Peel the apples, cut up and mix with cinnamon and sugar (as much or as little as you would like).
I used the Magic Bullet to chop up the apples to make them smaller.

How to make Cinnamon Sugar chips:

Tortilla shells
Melted butter
Cinnamon
Sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush butter over the tortilla and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar mixture. I did this on both sides, but that is up to you. Place them on a baking sheet and bake for roughly 5 minutes and then flip them over and bake for another 5. This ensures they are crunchy on both sides. You can bake for longer if you would like them crispier. Then eat them with the apple dip for a nice fall treat!!

Life Lesson #5...Really Listen To People

God gave us TWO ears and ONE mouth...

Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.
Winston Churchill

This is a lesson that is a lot easier said than done, especially for me. I am a talker. I could probably have a conversation about any topic in this world. I was very good in speech class because I have no problem with speaking. I often forget that I also need to listen to others. I have been working on this more lately, but it is a very hard thing for me to do.

In order to truly listen to others, don't think about what you are going to say next. I think this is the most common error people make. They are so worried about keeping the conversation going that they don't really hear what the other person is saying to them. Just take a moment each day to truly listen to what someone is saying to you and you might just learn something!!

I appreciate all comments and feedback. It would be great if you would follow my blog!! Thanks!

What Goes Around Comes Around

I believe without a doubt, what goes around...comes around. If you dish it out, you better be ready to take it. Perfect example:

I was at the bar this weekend. I was the DD, so I wasn't drinking. My friends and I were all dancing and having a good time and I had to use the restroom, so I left them on the dance floor. (Side note: they should have 3 women's restrooms for every man's restroom. Just putting that idea out there.) Anyway..I was on my way back and I walked by this guy who was 3 sheets to the wind.

So I walk by this guy and he reaches out and grabs me, not just touch but Grab! I don't care if you are drunk or not, there is no excuse for that. So I turned around and got in his face and told him to never do that again (there was a few expletives in there that I won't type). So he let me go and acted shocked (as shocked as a drunk man can get) that I reacted that way. Because clearly any woman in the bar wants to be pawed by every man they walk by.

So here comes the Karma part of the story. He gets up to walk right after that and slipped in someones spilled drink. Well he is drunk so down he goes like a ton of bricks, flat on his back. The best part is that he had a full drink in his hand that he spilled on himself as he was falling.

I may sound like a horrible person, but I pointed and laughed hysterically!! So in conclusion...What goes around comes around! Hahahaha

Another Tour of Duty

I just found out this morning that my husband is going to be sent back to Iraq. He is in the National Guard. He was in Iraq a few years back and that was one of the hardest things I have been through. He is getting shipped back overseas in 2012. I am so proud of him. So I will be blogging a lot more about the Army and being an Army wife. I always appreciate comments and you should definitely follow my blog, it will be fun times!! So I am gonna close with this....

When the good Lord was creating Wives, he was into his sixth day of overtime.
An angel appeared and said, "You're having a lot of trouble with this one. What's wrong with the standard model?"
And the Lord replied, "Have you seen the specs on this order? She has to be completely independent, but must be sponsored to get on post; have the qualities of both father and mother during deployments; be a perfect hostess to 4 or 40; run on black coffee; handle emergencies without a manual; be able to handle flu, birthdays and moves around the world; have a kiss that can cure anything from a child's torn Valentine to a husband's weary day; have the patience of a saint when waiting for the Unit to return home; and have six pairs of hands."

The angel shook her hand slowly and said, "Six pairs of hands... no way!"
And the Lord answered, "Don't worry, we'll make other military wives to help. Besides it's not the hands that are causing the problem, it's the heart. It must swell with pride in her husband, sustain the ache of separations, beat on soundly when it's too tired to do so and be large enough to say, "I Understand" when she doesn't, and 'I love you' regardless."
"Lord," said the angel, touching his sleeve gently. "Come to bed... finish this tomorrow!"

"I can't," said the Lord. "I'm so close to creating something unique. Already I have one who heals herself when she's sick, can feed three unexpected guests who are stuck in the area due to bad weather, and can wave good-bye to her husband, from a pier, off a runway and understand that it is important to his country that he leaves."
The angel circled the model of the military wife very slowly. "It's too soft," she sighed.

"But tough," said the Lord excitedly. "You cannot imagine what this woman can do or endure."
"Can it think?"
"Can it think? It can convert 1400 to 2 p.m."

Finally, the angel bent over and ran her finger across the cheek. "There's a leak," she pronounced. "I told you that you were trying to put too much into this model."
"It's not a leak," said the Lord. "It's a tear."

"What's it for?" asked the angel.
"It's for joy. Sadness. Disappointment. Pain, loneliness and pride!"
"You are a genius," sighed the angel.

The Lord looked somber and replied, "I didn't put it there."

Just one of them days...

Sooo...a few weeks ago, my boss and I got into it big time. I have been at this job for over 4 years and he treats me like I am in Kindergarten. I finally reached my limit and we started yelling at each other. So he called me in his office and told me that I need to work on my attitude and that is why I haven't gotten a raise in over a year and why I am not going to get a raise...ugh. Well I was mad, but I can handle that because that is my fault for having a short temper.

Now to today. He calls me in his office and this is sorta how it went:

Boss: I just wanted to tell you that your attitude has improved tremendously.

Me: Thanks!!! (thinking: maybe I will get a raise)

Boss: You haven't been slamming the phone or getting aggravated and I think you are doing a really good job.

Me: Thanks!! (thinking: OK get on with it already!!)

Boss: BUT...you talk really loud when you are on the phone. I know I do this too and this is something we both need to work on.

Me: Huh? (thinking: What the Fuck! I am getting in trouble for my volume!)

Boss: Yeah that is something you really need to work on. You are the only one out of the girls that I can always here talking on the phone.

Me: thinking: (Yeah douche bag, probably because I am the ONLY one that sits 2 feet from your office)

Boss: Other than that, keep up the good work. Just try to talk quieter when you are on the phone.

Me: Ok, sure. (thinking: AAAAHHHHHHHHH!! Why me?)

So in conclusion...I am still not getting a raise. I love all the lame excuses they come up with so they can pay me this crappy amount to do a job that I should be making hella more for. I am naturally a loud person. I talk loud and laugh loud. I generally live my whole life out loud and I love the way I am.

Comments are always welcome and you could also follow me to...that would be fantastic.

Prison vs. Work

Just in case you ever got these two mixed up, This should make things a bit more clear....

IN PRISON you spend the majority of your time in an 8X10 cell.
AT WORK you spend the majority of your time in a 6X8 cubicle.

IN PRISON you get three meals a day.
AT WORK you only get a break for one meal and you pay for it.

IN PRISON you get time off for good behavior.
AT WORK you get more work for good behavior.

IN PRISON the guard locks and unlocks all the doors for you.
AT WORK you must carry around a security card and open all the doors for yourself.

IN PRISON you can watch TV and play games.
AT WORK you get fired for watching TV and playing games.

IN PRISON you get your own toilet.
AT WORK you have to share with some idiot who pees on the toilet.

IN PRISON they allow your family and friends to visit.
AT WORK you can't speak to your family.

IN PRISON all expenses are paid by the taxpayers with no work required.
AT WORK you get to pay all the expenses to go to work and then they deduct taxes from your salary to pay for prisoners.

IN PRISON you spend most of your life inside bars wanting to get out.
AT WORK you spend most of your time wanting to get out and go inside bars.

IN PRISON you must deal with sadistic wardens.
AT WORK they are called managers
